It's no secret how much Mike and I enjoy Christmas. We had planned weeks in advance which day we would get to decorate our house. I had just worked all night. It was about two in the afternoon when Mike came in and woke me up. He said he didn't want me to sleep all day. After waking up we went outside and decorated our house for Christmas. We put Christmas lights on all our bushes and fence line. We set up a light up tree and train in the front yard. We moved into the inside and started on our tree. Once the Christmas tree was just about done I had started putting decorations up around the house. I was standing on a chair trying to hang Christmas ornaments from Mike's grandmother's chandelier when Mike called from behind the tree and said there was one more ornament left in the box. He said he had a great spot picked out on the tree. I walked over to the ornament box, when I looked inside there was a ring box opened to a gorgeous diamond ring! I was so stunned I was speechless. I remember Mike walking over getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him! I of course said yes immediately!! 

I was a little nervous. I was thinking about how I wanted to do this. I wanted to make it memorable. I decided to do it while decorating the tree. I hung out with Dusty all day waiting for her to wake up. I called my parents told them I was going to propose. She finally woke up. I put the ring behind the TV in the living room while we were decorating the tree. I suggested that she decorate my grandmother's chandelier. Once she was busy doing that I placed the ring in the ornament box then went and stood behind the tree. I told her there was one more ornament left. When she went over, she was just standing looking at the box covering her mouth. She asked if she was dreaming. I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes!
