For some of you who dont know "our story" about how we met. Here's how it all started. Doug's best friend Trevor and Meranda are cousins. Trevor and Doug have been friends now for close to 20 years. On Christmas Eve 2009 Meranda and Trevor were at their grandparents house celebrating Christmas Eve. This was the first time Trevor had mentioned Doug to Meranda. Trevor told Meranda that he had a really nice friend named Doug that he would like Meranda to meet. Later that night Trevor came over to Meranda's house and brought Doug with him. Meranda had no idea that Trevor was bringing Doug to her house that night. After hanging out that night Meranda and Doug didnt talk for a few weeks until one night when Meranda decided to send Doug a text message seeing if he wanted to get together and he did. Doug and Meranda spent some time together for the next couple nights and got to know eachother. They hit it off right off the bat. They found that they had many things in common and shared many interests. 

After spending time with eachother for a few days Doug asked Meranda if he could take her out on an offical date and Meranda accepted. That Friday night Doug took Meranda to see the movie "Avatar." This was the only real date Meranda had ever been on. It was a night that neither of them will never forget. "I remember sitting in the theater next to Doug and wanting told hold his hand I was in shock when he grabbed mine." After that night Doug and Meranda continued to see eachother then on February 8, 2010 Doug asked Meranda if she would be his offical girlfriend and Meranda accepted. 

Shortly after they became offical Meranda moved in with Doug and his family. After dating for about a year Meranda and Doug got their first apartment together. By this time Doug had graduated from college and Meranda was in the process of earning her education. After living in an apartment for about 3 years Meranda and Doug decided they were ready to buy their first home. They bought their first home in the Summer 2014. By this time Meranda and Doug had been dating for 4 years. Doug and Meranda had talked about getting married many times but they had set goals they were trying to meet before they took the big step of marriage. 

Then on November 26, 2015 on Thanksgiving morning Meranda got the suprise of her life. Doug had made a great plan for a proposal that included their dog Mea who they love like their own child. Doug tied a ribbon around Mea's neck with Meranda's ring hanging from the ribbon. In their home where Meranda wanted Doug to propose to her he got down on one knee and asked Meranda to marry him. Merands accepted the proposal that she had been waiting so long for. Merand and Doug will become Mr. and Mrs. DeLong on June 6, 2017 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Meranda is having the wedding of her dreams she always wanted to get married on a beach in a beautiful tropical place. Meranda and Doug never dreamed they would find someone so special to spend the rest of their lives with. They are looking forward to seeing what their future holds together.
