Every year my family gets together around Oct/Nov for family pictures b/c my mom makes beautiful Christmas cards with a little insert write ups on what each family has been up to etc. My mom asked me to call the photographer who did mine and Casey’s daughter (Brooklie’s) baby pics in January. Of course I called her and booked her for the time that worked out for all of the family (keep in mind there are 13 of us so schedules are hard to work with). Everyone decided they wanted to do Golf Course pictures this year since that’s one theme we have never done. Since Casey and I worked at a country club at the time we knew the perfect spot that would make the prettiest pictures. A few days before we were all about to meet at the golf course, Casey’s mom called me and said “Hey would it be a big deal if we come and get our family pictures as well, We haven’t had any made since Casey was 12 years old”? Knowing how much my mom and Casey’s mom love each other I thought no big deal my mom won’t care b/c we can take pictures with them after.

So October 18, 2015 at 5:30pm MY family shows up for pictures and his family comes around 6:30, when we were just finishing up with the Wilmoth clan. Casey and I were getting our pictures with our girls on hole 13, since that was Casey’s favorite hole. About to take the last picture of us (b/c ya know the baby has been at this for an hour and let’s just say she was winding down) Casey looked at me and said “For this last picture lets have Keira hold Brooklie it will be cute” my long hesitation I finally said “Ok but I think that will look weird”. As I’m standing there handing the baby over to Keira, Casey is down on one knee… I’m still standing there NOT LOOKING BEHIND ME b/c I’m just trying to make sure Keira isn’t going to drop the baby lol. Finally about 30 seconds later I said “What are you doing babe, come on” (as I’m turning around). Then I just freeze b/c it hasn’t quite set in….. OMG THIS IS IT, THIS IS THE MOMENT, I HAD NO CLUE, HOW DID I NOT KNOW, WHATS GOING ON…. As all these things are going through my head, but all that could come out of my mouth was “Are you serious”?  “Are you serious”? “Are you serious”? As I stand there and watched him tear up and my heart racing at 100 miles a minute, I realized my best friend, my partner, my boyfriend was about to unite our family as one!

Not only did he propose to me but he “proposed his promise as a dad” to Keira as well. Getting back down on one knee, wrapping a little diamond heart necklace around her neck and saying “Keira not only am I marrying your mommy, I’m marrying you too”. It was at the moment God was looking down on me saying "This is it, this is your perfect life you prayed for, and I have delivered it to you".
