I had no idea that going to Newport for a day was going to change my life forever. We had gone to Newport a few months prior with my family and I really thought he was going to ask then, but it didn't happen. So after our trip to Newport Jeff said he wanted to go back again just the two of us to rent a Slingshot, which is a 2 seater motorcycle. We were driving around the beach to see the beautiful view of Newport as we began to drive back towards the manisions, Jeff asked if I could get him back to the beach so we could take some pictures. Obviously I was bit annoyed since we had just driven by the beach and it was starting to rain. I directed him back to the beach and we got out. We began to walk and walk when I finally asked him where do you want to take these pictures its raining, when he said right here is fine. He then proceeded to tell me that he needed to go to the bathroom and now I was even more annoyed as I told him to pee over the ledge cause there was no one around. He walked over to the ledge as I watched to make sure no one was coming. He walked back over to me and was like ok I can't do it lets just take these pictures. So we took 2 pictures with the water in the background when he said ok one more pose and we are done. I was not paying attention to him as when I turned around he was down on one knee asking me to MARRY HIM! I of course asked him if he was serious and began to cry hysterically and said YES! On top of getting engaged we also were witnesses to a wedding in that same spot. A couple had spotted Jeff getting down on one knee and ran over to us with their Justice of the Peace. The Justice of the Peace explained to us that they had seen him ask me to marry him and would like to take some photos for us. He then asked if we would be witnesses for their wedding as they were getting married in the Carribean and he would not be able to legally wed them there. We said of course and watched this couple get married in the same spot we were engaged. That alone is a sign that our life together is meant to be. We have even asked the Justice of the Peace to do our wedding as well will see if it works out!!!
