Bride

As most of you know, Nick came up with the biggest and best surprise and proposed on our last vacation, on a cruise to Aruba, Curacao and Grand Turk, aboard the Carnival Sunshine on May 19, 2018! On that Saturday night, we were finishing up getting ready for the first captain's dinner, went onto the balcony for pictures, and after a "sly distraction maneuver", I turned around and he was down on one knee! In total shock, I was speechless (and I think I left him wondering way longer than he anticipated!), and after it set in, I Said Yes, Of Course! We were able to celebrate and spend the most amazing time together the rest of the week on the cruise!

The title of my section says it all ... it was a Legendary Day, She Said Yes!

I knew after our first date that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Kayla. From that moment and over the last year and half, I have been planning out how I would propose to her. Last year, Mr. Mike and Mrs. Pam invited us to go on a cruise vacation with them in May 2018. I knew then that it was going to be the perfect opportunity for the special occasion and was ready to make it happen (especially since I knew she couldn't escape and say no then :) ). After I got the go ahead from Mr. Mike and Mrs. Pam, much deliberation about "the ring", and with the help of my Mom, I was able to land the perfect ring and picked it up just in time for the cruise. Thankfully, my future in-laws were in on it with me and were able to help me hide it and get the ring on the cruise with us without her knowing. I waited until the captain's dinner evening so we were all dressed up (because she'd always said she would want to be whenever it happened!), and just before dinner, I picked up the ring from Mr. Mike next door. I was so nervous I was pacing in and out of the room, but I was excited knowing it was finally about to happen. I asked her to go out onto our private balcony to take a picture. I pointed and pretended to see dolphins as a distraction, all the while I was getting down on one knee. After a pause, a LONG, silent pause in shock, she finally said YES with tears of joy. In that moment, was the happiest moment of my life, and the most exciting time for us as we were anxious to start this new journey in our lives together.
