We met in 3rd grade. In the beginning of the school year Jay attended Alamo Elementary and Melissa attended Rosenberg Elementary. In the middle of the school year Jay's Mom got hired at Rosenberg Elementary and decided to bring Jay with her. He was put in Melissa's class where an immediate crush between the two of us formed, although we didn't tell each other about it until about 20 years later. As luck would have it, we ended up in the same class again in 4th grade, Mrs. Kitley's class. Here is where we formed a unique bond that only the two of us shared. Mrs. Kitley always had us doing fun group activities and through luck and a little pulling of the string by Jay we often ended up partners. Again we didn't tell each other of our secret crushes although Jay kept a love note for Melissa in the zipper of his Kangaroo shoes the entire school year but never built up enough courage to give it to her.

Through the years we remained friends going to the same schools but didn't have any classes together again until our senior year. After graduation we made our seperate lives. Melissa went to college to become a Nurse and Jay went to college to become a Teacher. We would occasionally run into each other here and there but would only exchange "Hellos" until about 3 years ago when we met again at a nightclub. We quickly realized we still shared some of those same feelings we had in 4th grade only this time Jay had some courage juice in him that allowed him to finally share how he felt. We quickly hit it off and have been together ever since.

It was a Friday night. I had bought Melissa her ring several days before and I was really anxious to give it to her so I decided I was going to go on ahead and do it before I totally ruined the surprise. I called Melissa at work and told her I wanted to take her out on a date. She came home, got ready and we were on our way to Galveston for a "date." As we were driving to Galveston I was as nervous as could be holding a conversation with her that I had no idea what we were talking about as my mind was on the upcoming proposal. I remember driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on my pocket making sure the ring didn't fall out or show. I told her I wanted to first stop to see a house my sister was moving into near "Rosenberg Elementary." When we passed by Rosenberg I playfully asked her if she wanted to get out and see the school again. We went to the bike rack we often played around at after school while we waited to go home and when she turned around I dropped down and proposed. She turned around and immediately started crying and freaked me out! I looked at her and said "Well????!!!!" "is that a yes or a no?" She said YES!

Our wedding will be held at Enchanted Gardens in Dickinson, Texas. It is a casual yet beautiful place. We fell in love with the place the moment we stepped foot there and after talking to the wonderful owner Amy we knew this was the place we had to get married at. The garden is truly enchanted and we cannot wait to exchange our vows and share our special day with our family and friends there on July 6th. The ceremony will start at sunset and we will eat and party right after.

We along with our three children would like to Thank everyone for all of your love and support. We can not wait to share our special day with each and every one of you.
