It was far from a fairytale.
We met at work and a flirty friendship grew. My mother just so happened to work at the same property as us and Daniel quickly made his way into my mother's heart. He played his cards right, I must say. After playing hard to get, Daniel and I took our friendship to the next level. A year after that we moved in together.
Fastforward to 4 years later, we took a vacation together to Virginia Beach to visit friends. It was the weekend of July 4th. During the drive down to Virginia, we had plenty of time to chat and we touched upon marriage. I stated I don't see us getting engaged for another year or so. Little did I know, he had something planned. The next night was 4th of July and we went to see fireworks at an enchanting Chinese garden with our friends. We were watching the fireworks and then Daniel grabbed my hand and asked me to marry him with a FAKE RING. I had no idea it was fake, it was dark and the fireworks were loud and all I can think about it saying was "yes!". After I said yes, he pulled out the real canary diamond engagment ring out of his pocket. |
