| | Matt and I met through his brother Jesse. We started talking via text messages. Matt had tried to ask me out for coffee a couple of times, and I kept turning him down; or should I say pretended I didn't know what he was talking about. One day I noticed that I hadn't spoken to him for a few days; that day something came over me and I asked Matt if he wanted to come over and have dinner with the girls and I....to which he answered "yes". Matt came over, we had dinner, and we talked for hours. There was a connection with each other; like two long lost friends were reunited that had not seen each other forever. Matt came over a couple more times and at that point we both knew that our friendship was something special and in turn became inseparable. For Christmas, Matt gave me concert tickets to Bush and Theory of a Deadman concert in Lewiston. We made arrangements to have my brother and sister in-law watch the girls for the night; for our first date (yes, first date without anyone else with us). Unbeknownst to me, Matt had made a reservation at Divinci's Eatery for lunch. When we arrived and were seated, there were two red roses on the table. I was so taken aback by all of the thought Matt had put into everything. It left me speechless. Several times during lunch I looked at him and told him I wanted to talk to him, but I couldn't because I was speechless. We ate our lunch and ordered dessert. Matt asked me a couple of times if I was all done. I kept saying "yes". We ordered our desserts to go, and then Matt took out a box, a piece of paper, and asked me if he could read something to me. I said "no", he said ok and waited a few more minutes to ask again if he could read something to me.... and I said "no". Matt then asked me if I would be willing to read what he had written; I answered "yes". I read the hand written "note" and became extremely emotionally moved. When I was finished reading it, he got down on one knee on the floor of the Restaurant and asked me to marry him. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this man and without thinking twice about it said "yes"! | | We hope that you are able to make it to Bar Harbor, Maine and celebrate our wedding. | | We already have more "things" than we need. The gift of your presence at the wedding is the best gift that you could give us. However many of our friends have indicated they would like to give a gift.
We have booked our honeymoon through AAA Travel for the Secrets Siversands Riviera Cancun, Mexico for which we will be departing early the following morning! Some have indicated they might like to contribute directly (if so call Kristen Holmes at 207-780-6958). We would also enjoy any experience that you might like to give!
