May 19, 2008 Jeff walked in to my office on his first day at Consumers Credit Union. Who was to know that this day would change our lives forever. As he learned very quickly I am not a morning person, he would greet me as I walked in each morning with "Good Morning Sunshine" knowing I was less than friendly at that hour. What started as a joke has become his morning ritual for the past 5 years hardly ever missing a day. On June 27, 2008, my 29th birthday, some friends and coworkers were heading up to the Wild Bull for a fun filled birthday night. Jeff came to my party brought me a card and we have been together every day since.
In 2009 we got a fantasic suprise with our little bundle of joy Jackson. He truely is the final puzzle piece to our special family. The four of us have had so many amazing adventures including many spring break trips to visit Grandma Great in Arizona, UP trips over the 4th of July, camping at Silver Lake, and too many hockey games to count. Jackson has traveled more in 3 1/2 years than most people do in a lifetime. We work hard to make memories for both boys that will last a lifetime.
On March 30, 2012, on one of those Spring Break trips to Arizona Jeff took me to a spot overlooking Lake Havasu at sunset and asked me to marry him. Being right before April Fools Day I thought maybe he was playing a joke on me, but to my excitment he was not. I would now be guaranteed to spend every day for the rest of my life with my best friend. |
On April 20, 2013 19 of our friends and family traveled to the Valley of Fire outside of Las Vegas in the Red Rock Mountains to witness our wedding. It was a perfect day in the desert with a temprature of about 85. While we were getting ready for our special day we were getting updates from Michigan where we were informed of the snow that was falling. Exactly why we choose somewhere that does not snow. It was a perfect backdrop for our nuptuals. After the ceremony while we were taking pictures Evan was climbing the red rocks and Jackson was having fun collecting rocks with Uncle Scott. Everyone had a great time and the pictures turned out beautiful.
Getting to our destination of Las Vegas 3 days before the wedding did not go as smoothly as the wedding itself. Our plane was delayed coming in so we were late leaving. As we were sitting next in line for take off in Detroit it started hailing for about 15 seconds causing us to have to return to the gate for the FAA inspector to make sure the plane was OK to fly. This delay caused us to miss our connection in Nashville. We were told we could stay in Detroit and go out the next day or go to Nashville and get a flight out in the morning. When I was told my bags were going to Nashville so I decided so was I. We got to Nashville and was given tickets to a flight from Nashville to Las Vegas in the morning. We got to the airport the next morning only to find out they had booked me on the flight to Vegas and the other 8 travelers were booked on a flight to Jacksonville, FL then to Las Vegas. So Jeff switched with me and went alone direct to Vegas to get the rental car and get checked in before the rest of us got there. He spent an hour and a half trying to get the rental car because that was screwed up as well, but then we all arrived and after 27 hours of travel we had finally got to our destination. I am sure glad we left 3 days before the wedding to leave time to get there! |
This is where you come in. We wanted to make sure we got a chance to celebrate with everyone that is so special to us and have supported us. Our big wedding celebration is June 29th at 3107 East U Ave in Vicksburg. We are having it open house style so you can come any time from 5-9 and stay as long as you would like. We will have tons of food, drinks, and games. We even have a bounce house for the kids:) We are looking forward to seeing everyone. |
